1 post, 10 calls, and a painful mistake
How a viral win turned into 5 hours of wasted calls and what I’m doing differently now.

Hey, before we go into the main topic, I know life can be busy, and we have new readers of the “Grow with the Flow” family, so in case you want to have more good free stuff, here is my introductory present for you.
👇
Okay, now we can start with my main topic…
Ever had something work TOO well?
That's exactly what happened to me last week! 🤯

I published a single post about how one prompt can completely transform your funnel & give you everything from a one-sentence value proposition to a full 30-day content plan.
The post BLEW UP.
(some of you have becomes my new readers; thank you. 😃 )
The result?
20+ form submissions and 10 booked calls.
1 close deal + 1 waiting for the feedback

Success, right?
Well... not exactly.
Here's the uncomfortable truth I discovered:
Quantity doesn't always equal quality.
Out of those 10 calls, only TWO were actually qualified leads for my offer.
The rest? Just a massive time drain that left me questioning my entire approach.
My funnel looked like this:
You comment “keyword” on my LinkedIn post
I send you the landing page where you leave email address
Get confirmation that lead magnet is in inbox
Submit Tally form for free funnel review call
Book discovery call
Sounds solid on paper, but…..
I made three critical mistakes that cost me hours of wasted time:
First mistake:
I didn't specify WHO this was for. I should have targeted CEOs; Publishers & Advertisers specifically in the affiliate space (my sweet spot), but instead cast too wide a net.
Second mistake:
My qualification form was WAY too basic
Just 4 questions that barely scratched the surface of what I needed to know.
Third mistake:
I let ANYONE book a call after form submission without proper qualification.
The result?
Eight calls with people who weren't my ideal clients.
That's 4-5 hours I'll never get back! 😫
Don’t get me wrong, I love to help and I am always open to it, but I am writing this to you so you can learn from my mistake.
Your time is the biggest asset you have, so use it wisely.
Here's how I'm transforming this setback into a stronger approach:
1️⃣ Get crystal clear on WHO the lead magnet is for
(even if it means lower reach but higher quality)
2️⃣ Add specific questions in the form that truly qualify leads and show how I can help them
3️⃣ After form submission, send them a video breakdown of their specific problem FIRST
4️⃣ Use DMs to ask follow-up questions about their goals before offering a call
This approach creates a "pre-buying experience" where potential clients get value upfront, experience my expertise, and then ASK for the discovery call themselves.
By that point, they're already 50% sold before we even speak!
My takeaway
A viral post that generates tons of unqualified leads isn't actually a win. Target the right people with the right message, and you'll spend less time on calls that go nowhere and more time closing deals with dream clients.
Have you ever had a "successful" marketing effort that actually created more problems than it solved? Hit reply and let me know - I'd love to hear your story!
Power to your funnel,
Sabahudin "Quality Over Quantity"
